Two fun and fact-packed biographical galleries and a fantabulous interactive Story Centre.

The Museum is open 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. This means we are closed on most Mondays.

The first small brewers museum in the UK, the "breweriana" opened here in 1994 and contains brewing artefacts from earlier county breweries, along with some interesting family momentoes. A number of individual and group tours of the brewery are available.

Chiltern Brewery

Five award-winning beers are produced here, available on draught or in bottles, and a number of commemorative house beers have been produced for special occasions. There is a popular Brewery Shop with an amazing range of prize-winning beers and brewery produce.

Tours cost from £3.50 per person and need to be booked, so please phone for details of the various tours available and a booking form.


County Museum and Roald Dahl Children's Gallery

The County Museum dates back to the 15th century and includes much material on the county's Roman and Celtic past. There are displays of fossils and villages, and exhibitions of trades such as lace making, pottery, jewellery and crafts. There is access for the disabled and a cafe.

The Roald Dahl Gallery has many interactive exhibits which children will enjoy, based on the characters and machines from the author's books.

Restored by the Buckingham Heritage Trust, the Old Gaol is a landmark building containing a museum which reflects Buckingham's history using an audio-visual display, presented in the various cells.
